When Jimmy Pardo welcomes his old friend Bil Dwyer to Never Not Funny, you know you’re in for a treat! Much like Spinal Tap is known as England’s loudest band, Bil is known as America’s loudest comedian. Well, not really, but maybe we can start that here. Bookers, club-owners, promoters, Bil’s agent, please consider this. What better draw could there be on the marquee and flyers? Who wouldn’t want to see America’s Loudest Comedian ™?

But I digress. Episode of 1011 of Never Not Funny is, decible-for-decible, one of the funniest ways you can spend a hundred and four minutes and forty seconds. Bil and Jimmy discuss game shows, The Grammys, and movies , with a special emphasis on Tom Cruise. They also discuss whether the Never Not Funny death curse applies to Whitney Houston. I may have unintentionally misled them into thinking it doesn’t apply, but after this show was recorded, we found out it probably does. Hoo boy. Now I feel bad. But no matter… I know where to hear to high-volume funny to cheer me up!

And what is it about Gary that compels his valet to interrupt the podcast to collect his money? Both of these incidents are unprecedented in the annals of Never Not Funny, so we blame Gary, even though both incidents were out of his control, but in different ways.

Despite this, Jimmy and Gary talk about nice guys in comedy, regional accents, XM Radio residuals, buying a car for Danielle, and whether Jimmy is “still doing the comedy thing.”

Attack of the Nerd: Kevin Pereira

First-time guest Kevin Pereira joins Jimmy Pardo and Matt Belknap for episode 1008 of Never Not Funny. Jimmy and Kevin go way back together to that time about a month ago when Jimmy was on the Kevin-hosted G4 network program Attack of the Show for about 10 minutes.

But that 10 minutes (plus 5 before and 5 after) was enough to convince Jimmy that Kevin had to be a Never Not Funny guest. And this may surprise you: he was right!

Kevin, Jimmy, and Matt yuck it up discussing all things nerdy including Words with Friends, Kevin’s nerd history, plus the bonus attraction of Dan and Eliot sitting in for Stupid Questions. Oh, and Smurf porn.

Some things in entertainment are good, and some are iconic. Two of these iconic things are the original Planet of the Apes movies, and Dana Gould, although Dana is a person and not a thing, but you know what I mean, don’t make me explain it.

Dana Gould is a respected veteran of comedy, and his appearance on Jimmy Pardo’s award-winning podcast Never Not Funny is joyously welcomed by comedy fans everywhere, or least among those who listen to Never Not Funny. Jimmy and Dana share a love of comedy, and a love for the Planet of the Apes movies, but while Jimmy may have bought the DVD set, Dana went big-time and bought Planet of the Apes star Roddy McDowell’s old house!

Infamous and Polarizing: Episode 505 with Greg Fitzsimmons

Jimmy Pardo and Greg Fitzsimmons are friends. Honest! But like most friendships, there can be misunderstandings, lack of proper communication, just plain not being on the same page, and, occasionally, one friend might be somewhat overmedicated. This can lead to awkwardness and/or hilarity!

It’s all cleared up now, partly thanks to Jimmy visiting Greg’s podcast, but Episode 505 of Never Not Funny turned out to be one of the most polarizing in NNF history. I’m on the record (at the Pardcast.com message boards) of coming down on the side of “hilarious.” I make no apologies, but revisiting after all these ears I found it more awkward than I did originally.

In any case, it is a piece of Never Not Funny history, and now here it is on Never Not Notes, in exclusive KwikeeNotes(tm) format. Enjoy!

We all know about the infamous Episode 523 (AKA: The Mic-Throwing Episode). What you may not know is that it is actually Part 3 of what I have dubbed The Fighty Trilogy. These are the three episodes in which Jimmy, Matt, and Pat are the most, uh, fighty.

Episode 408 is Part 1 of The Fighty Trilogy, wherein the guys argue over who is the most rude in e-mail form. But it’s not all a slugfest. We also get to hear about Nana’s monkey and Andrew’s story about filming a movie with Gary Busey.

Coming soon, Part 2 of the Fighty Trilogy: Episode 514, in which the guys discuss Michael Jackson on the day after the memorial. But for now…
